Health Care Assistant

Outline Content

This half day update session is suitable for experienced Health Care Assistants working within primary care, who work alongside a registered nurse mentor, and have successfully completed the Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccination for Healthcare Assistant Course. Students must have completed CPR Training within the previous twelve months.

Learning Outcomes

  • The course will cover: relevant current issues in flu vaccination; changes to national policy and schedules; review of current practice and identification on areas for improvement; recognition and management of anaphylaxis; question and answers session for commonly-encountered problems in practice.


There will be no formal assessment. A Certificate, valid for one year, will be issued on completion of update session.
