Course Delivery & Duration
The Practical ECG training course is a one day workshop with learning materials. It follows the syllabus of the Certificate in Practical Electrocardiography.

Outline Content
An ECG is only useful as a screening tool when quality and adherence to guidelines exist.
The 12 lead ECG is an essential diagnostic tool in the management and treatment of ischaemic heart disease (Jevon, 2000).
When recording a 12 lead ECG it is important to ensure accuracy and standardisation in order to avoid misinterpretation of the ECG and mismanagement of the patient (Jevon, 2003).
Learning Outcomes
- This workshop can be a standalone course or undertaken with Day 2.
- This course demonstrates the ability to accurately perform an ECG, by which practitioners are assessed for competency in all Healthcare environments.
