Outline Content

This six month women's health training course is designed to facilitate practitioners to acquire further knowledge of women’s health and apply this to the development of personal practice within their working environment, and to enable practitioners to further develop knowledge required to deliver safe holistic care in the context of women’s health. The module focuses on the management of female adult life, sexual health, contraception, breast and cervical screening, continence and menopause and the organisation and management of the services available to support this. Emphasis is placed on the importance of the health needs of the individual, health promotion and empowerment of the woman and on multi-professional collaboration.

The course is delivered simultaneously with our Women's Health Management in Primary Care training course, but is more suited to healthcare practitioners who have not previously studied at degree level or who are returning to study. Details on the level 6 course can be found here.
