The Foundation in Spirometry training course consists of two workshop days with learning materials.

Spirometry is only useful as a screening technique where uniformity and quality of practice exist. Without a thorough understanding of the principles involved, the methodology, the effects of the disease on lung function and the interpretation of results, it is difficult for practitioners to be confident and competent in practice. Our Spirometry training course will give you this understanding.

After completing this two day foundation course people may, if they wish, register for the National Certificate of Competence in Spirometry, by which all practitioners of spirometry are assessed for competence, in the Primary and Secondary Care arenas.
