PCTC welcomes new accrediting university13 Jan 2009

In Summer 2008 we formed a collaboration with the University of Teesside.

All students who register on an accredited course will not only be PCTC students, they will enrol with the University of Teesside. Our established courses have been reviewed, and there are some beneficial changes to credit ratings.

Recognising the importance of personal professional development, we have extended our portfolio of accredited courses, and some study days now have an optional assessment component. On successful completion of an accredited course, students will be awarded either a University Certificate in Continued Professional Development (UCCPD) or a University Certificate in Continuing Education (UCCE) depending on the level of the course.

Paul Keane, Dean of the School of Health and Social Care, said:

"It is my pleasure to introduce you to the School of Health & Social Care at the University of Teesside.  I am now pleased that we have agreed a long term partnership with Bradford Primary Care Training Centre.  The School has an excellent history of working with external partners both nationally and internationally which has resulted in student enrolments now realising a population of over 9,000.

"We are committed to ensuring that our programmes meet the needs of service users, workforce planning and promoting clinical excellence through evidence-based practice.   The latest results from the National Student Survey now show that we have 3 subject areas in the School which are ranked in the top 10 of UK Universities.  These include Diagnostic Radiography, Nursing and Social Work and this could not have been realised without the successful partnerships which we have with health and social care providers."
