Diabetes Consolidation Study Day3 Jul 2007
New bespoke session for Swansea
Many primary care professionals have a basic knowledge and understanding of diabetes but did their training many years ago and are now asked to take over the running of Diabetes Clinics.
Our consolidation Study Days aim to cater for those who have a basic skill but which needs updating to take account of recent developments including guidelines and recommendations.
Based on our popular case-work format, this study day looks at the causes of diabetes including insulin resistance, diagnosis, basic and tablet treatment with additional guidance on the primary care use of insulin. Hypertension and diabetic nephropathy also receive attention.
This course follows GMS QOF, NICE, NSF, SIGN, JBS and IDF Guidelines.
The course includes a comprehensive programme and runs from 9.30 to 3.00.
This study day was a bespoke session developed for GPs and nurses in the Swansea area, and was evaluated as 'Excellent' by everyone who attended. Comments included:
"An excellent all round update - useful handouts."
"Good style of presentation...Excellent session on Insulins."
"Every part of lecture was enjoyable and useful."
